Creating more space for women in the outdoors
We created Pacha to connect and empower women to share our passion for outdoor adventure, travel & exploration. The founders of Pacha strive to foster a community of women who embrace the importance of personal responsibility, leadership development, health & environmental stewardship.
Our goal is to create retreats and adventures that are accessible, affordable and open to all skill levels. We want to create a welcoming place for ALL women to enjoy the outdoors, experience a new place and meet some other adventurous ladies. Whether you are new to the outdoors or a seasoned pro, we want to create a space for women to come together and explore.
We aim to support local & women-owned businesses as we plan our adventures locally and abroad.
The Pacha gals met during their time at Colorado College. They quickly learned that they shared a love for the outdoors and a passion for adventure. Some of their favorite adventures out west include camping in Moab, skiing the Tetons, and hiking through Rocky Mountain National Park. The three were known as the trip leaders in their lady crew and always put together a fun trip to a new destination. A few years after graduating they decided to team up again and share their passion for the outdoors with other women around the country. Pacha Adventure Co was founded in 2016.
Behind the name: Pacha
This name was truly inspired by one of our female role-models, Ecuador guide & great friend, Alex.
The name Pacha comes from the indigenous Andean word, Pachamama.
Pachamama has become a symbol for Mother Earth. In Inca mythology, Pachamama is the goddess who embodies the mountains and presides over the earth and all things natural. Rebecca, Cat & Sara connected deeply with this interpretation and felt that Pacha was the perfect name for their adventure company that brings women together in wild places.
